Gabel 1957 has always been sensitive to the environment, it is part of our ethics to be attentive, above all, to the well-being of our employees, to be responsible in using of natural resources (Gabel uses only certified clean energy for its industrial plants, offices and shops) and totally transparent towards our customers, thanks to the production chain's control (our labels always report the origin of manufacturing) and the proudly italian production of over 93% of our collections. Over twenty years ago we launched "Naturae" on the market, a line dedicated to Nature, in pure purged and untreated cotton and "Org", in organic cotton, "manifesto" collections of our commitment to (protecting) the environment which (was followed by) consisted also of a long collaboration with the WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature, which for over 10 years has chosen us as a partner).
Being an industry and being sustainable is only possible in Italy, through the control of all the production phases, respecting the European community regulations.
In 2019 Gabel obtained the STeP certification (SUSTAINABLE TEXTILE PRODUCTION), a comprehensive evaluation of corporate and social sustainability; the internal reporting codes were evaluated, with suppliers and external entities, towards the customers, the production processes, and finally the search for continuous efficiency and the constant reduction of waste.
STeP is a certification obtained through a process that began many years ago that led Gabel 1957 to choose to invest in Italy in order to guarantee high quality standards and at the same time pay attention to the impact of production processes that outside Italy do not you can check. This allowed us to place ourselves directly in the maximum STeP segment (the third, best practice, level).
